What, where, how and why is weblin.io? Part 1
Human beings experience the world with five senses: hearing, smell, taste, touch and – most importantly - vision. Sight is so important because it creates the basis for all typical interpersonal interactions. But what happens if every important aspect and a lot of our time is shifted to the digital world, where people on web pages are not visible as they are in the “real” world? That means we have to change something. And weblin.io does just that.

What, where, how and why is weblin.io? Part 1
What is weblin.io? Where is weblin.io? How is weblin.io? And why is weblin.io?

These are four questions that will be answered in a small blog series over the next few weeks. But first, I want to welcome you to our first official blog post. With the new blog, we – the whole weblin.io team – want to give you insights in our work, our community, and the process we have started to change the whole World Wide Web from the way it was! Does that sound interesting to you? I hope so.

**Let’s start with something crucial: “Why is weblin.io?”**

Human beings experience the world with five senses: hearing, smell, taste, touch and - most importantly – sight. Sight is one of the most important senses because it creates the basis for all our typical interactions. In the evening you are out “seeing” friends, you experience “love-at-first-sight”, all your dreams at night seem so real because you see all the things around you (Imagine a dream where you cannot see anything, but you hear and smell everything. Wouldn’t that be much less realistic?). So, you could say that seeing someone somewhere is naturally the first step into any kind of interaction with another human being.

But what happens if every important aspect and a lot of our time is shifted to the digital world, where people on web pages are not visible as they are in the “real” world? That implies a worse experience for any kind of interpersonal interaction compared to the real world, where others are around you. Or compare the feeling you have in a huge football stadium with what you feel if you stream the same game online. You see, there’s no comparison. To put it in a nutshell, on the one hand we have the unstoppable and rapidly developing digitalization which gradually transfers important areas of our lives to the digital world. On the other hand, we witness a declining quality of interpersonal experience as we know it in the real world.

The implication of this development is clear: We must change something about that. And weblin.io is doing just that. It turns the World Wide Web into a vibrant space where people meet, interact, and just live. Weblin.io enables you to reclaim the Web. Without limits, silos, or any restrictions!

But how? And where? And what does that mean? The next articles of this little blog series will answer just these questions. Stay tuned!
